Terms and Conditions
These terms relate to paid for sessions provided by Art Swansea CIC, and do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Payment for sessions covers the dates and times allocated for those events only. All participants are welcome to also attend the free open sessions that occur every Friday from 7-9pm to continue working on their pieces, or to produce other work.
All pieces created in the sessions are property of the participant who will, under current UK copyright law, retain copyright ownership of their finished work, but not of the original reference unless they are also the original copyright holder. By participating in the sessions the participants grant a non-exclusive license to use images of the produced work online and in print for promotional purposes.
Art Swansea aims to provide a safe and inclusive space for artists of all abilities. By attending Art Swansea sessions you agree to the code of conduct, and privacy policy both of which can be found by clicking on the linked text.
Payment for a session is refundable on cancellation up to 7 days before the date of the session. Notice of cancellation less than 7 days would result in a refund of 50%. This is because at shorter notice we might not be able to fill a cancelled space while still having to cover the cost of the session.
When booking a session that is over multiple dates then please ensure that you will be able to attend each session as it may not be feasible to catch up on lost progress. Unfortunately catch up sessions will not be available and refunds cannot be given for missed sessions. Obviously, we know unexpected things happen so if something unavoidable does come up then let us know as soon as possible so we can work with you to find a solution. We don’t want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to art.
Sessions include all the necessary materials and tuition to complete the advertised project. It is important that you inform Art Swansea of any allergies/sensitivities or additional needs you may have so we can discuss accommodations. Except in cases of negligence, Art Swansea CIC accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, damage, injury, or death during participation in Art Swansea art sessions (phew! That’s a scary one, but it’s got to be included. We don’t expect any of that to happen to any of us during our sessions).
And lastly: Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing to Art Swansea sessions. As we’ll be working with art materials there is the potential that you might get some on your clothes. Many art materials will stain clothing so please bear that in mind. Aprons and gloves are provided, but they only cover so much of you.
It’s also advisable to wear enclosed shoes to protect your feet as some of the tools used in sessions (hammers, staple guns) could cause injury if dropped on to your foot.
And lastly, when we’re offering specific session dates, if there is not sufficient uptake to make that session viable we will unfortunately cancel it. If we cancel a session you can either have a full refund, or accept an alternative session (if available). We try to make sure that sessions go ahead as planned, but in the event that they do not, we will make sure that you don’t lose out.
Now that is out of the way, the next thing to do is to pay for the session to confirm your space. By paying for the session you’re agreeing to abide by the above terms.
